Nadal opens tennis academy for those affected in Mallorca floods

The tennis player from Mallorca offered his condolences to those suffering after the flash floods and offered his facilities in Manacor to help.

The torrential storms which struck Mallorca this Tuesday have left nine dead, five disappeared and thousands affected. Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, who is from the island, responded to the natural disaster by offering his condolences to all those affected by the floods in a message that has gone viral on social media, and also by making his facilities at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor in the east of the island available to help with the aftermath of the disaster.

“Today is a sad day in Mallorca. Our most sincere condolences to all the families of those who lost their lives in the terrible floods in San Llorenç," said the tennis star on Instagram.

"Just as we did yesterday, we are once again offering the rooms at Rafa Nadal Sports Centre and the Rafa Nadal Academy for all those affected who need somewhere to stay”.
