Isco and Marcelo to the rescue

The Malaga born player has completed two full training sessions and both players are expected to get some playing time against Levante.

Good news for Julen Lopetegui ahead of Saturday's LaLiga game at home to Levante with the expected return of both Isco and Marcelo. The Benalmadena born player is recovering after an appendix operation in late September with Marcelo picking up a calf injury in the away defeat to Sevilla on September 26. Both players have been training with the rest of the squad since the beginning of the week and are expected to play at the weekend.

The initial plan is for both to play some role in both the Levante game and the following midweek fixture as Viktoria Plzen visit the Bernabéu on October 23rd in the Champions League with a view that both players are at optimum fitness for the first "El Clásico" of the season as Madrid travel to Camp Nou on October 28th.

Both players have been badly missed and their respective absences have coincided with Madrid's recent slump where Lopetegui's men have lost three and drawn just one game in the past four fixtures. This contrasts radically with games featuring both midfielder and defender where "Los Blancos" side recorded three wins and just one defeat with both players in action.
