The right back is on loan at Dortmund for two years but he could return next season if Real Madrid consider it a viable option given his versatility.

Achraf Hakimi left Real Madrid during the summer in search of minutes and is getting plenty of them at Borussia Dortmund. The defender is finding his feet at the German club and is becoming a key part of Favre's plans after the injury to Marcel Schmelzer.

He started the season on the bench but since September 26th, he has played every single minute available to him. In his first game, he scored and then added two assist in the following games. The very best was yet to come, however, and he helped in the demolition of Atlético Madrid as he chipped in with three assists as he showed off his versatility by playing at left-back.

Real Madrid could actually do with a full-back in the mould of Achraf right now with seemingly endless problems with Carvajal, Marcelo and their replacements.

Achraf follows in Carvajal's footsteps

It's Carvajal's footsteps that Achraf is currently following after the right-back spent a season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen. He was named as the Bundesliga's best right-back that season and forced Real Madrid to part with €6.5 million after selling him for €5 million.

The same might happen with the Moroccan, who is on a two-year loan deal, and while it has not been stated how much it would cost to bring him back early, Real Madrid might consider it an option. Theo Hernandez is also on loan at Real Madrid but Achraf's versatility means he might be considered.

After the game, Achraf said, "I play with more calm at Dortmund because I have the tranquility that I want, the confidence for my role at Real Madrid was not the same, at Dortmund, I play with more calm because I have more continuity."
