Vinicius says it was his decision to play for Real Madrid Castilla
The Brazilian admits that even when he was with the first team squad for the pre-season, playing for the reserves is better to help him adapt to the game and Madrid.
Update:
Vinicius travelled with Real Madrid's first team squad for the summer tour of the United States but has made just two appearance with the senior side so far this season - in the league games against Atlético and Alavés. However, he reveals that playing with the reserves was his plan all along.
“I completed the pre-season with the first team squad knowing that there was a strong chance that I would end up playing for the reserves. I asked to play for Castilla; if I wasn’t going to be considered for the first team on a regular basis. Playing for the B team is better than staying at home because it’s helping me to adapt [to the European game], and to adapt to the climate here and everything that a player needs”.
