The former Arsenal manager has spoken about rumours linking him with the Bernabéu and AC Milan but said he will wait until January to consider a return.
“Real Madrid haven’t been in touch with me, so I haven’t been able to say no to them,” Arséne Wenger said during an interview with BeIN Sports regarding rumours that the reigning European champions may be considering a bid to bring the former Arsenal manager to the Bernabéu.
Madrid have until Monday to decide whether or not to hand interim coach Santiago Solari a contract or bring in a more experienced coach to guide Madrid to the end of the season at least. Solari has done his chances no harm with three wins from three after taking over from Julen Lopetegui but it remains to be seen if Florentino Pérez has been swayed.
Wenger: Milan rumours "fake news"
As to suggestions that AC Milan may be considering a move for the Frenchman to replace Gennaro Gattuso, Wenger dismissed the reports as “fake news.” +
“I haven’t yet made any decision about my future,” Wenger, whose 22-year tenure at Arsenal came to an end last season, said. “Normally I confront problems when I find them in front of me and try to find a solution but at this moment in time I don’t have any problems to resolve. In January I’ll decide what to do.”
