The Brazilian full-back celebrates 12 years at the Santiago Bernabéu and says that just pulling on the white shirt gives a player the required ambition.

Marcelo marks 12 years at Madrid
Arriving in January 2007 at only 18 years old, Los Blancos paid Fluminense six million euros for his transfer. Looking back at the Brazilian's influence and trophies won over these years (19 titles in total), that price could be considered one of the biggest bargains in Madrid's history. On his special day, the full-back who wears the number 12 on his back spoke with the media team at the Bernabéu.
Marcelo on his best moment
"All of it stays with me. It is emotional for me to show my children the history I have with Real Madrid. The titles, the victories and the games in which I have won over the Bernabéu fans will stay with me forever."
Marcelo on playing for Real Madrid
"Every day I wake up so happy because anyone would love to be where I am, playing for the best club in the world, and I have this privilege. Just putting on this shirt keeps my ambition alive."
Marcelo on his Madrid debut against Deportivo
"Debuting with the club of your dreams at just 18 is indescribable. I was very nervous and just wanted to go out and play. There were many stars when I arrived and it was a special day. I watch that game a lot because it was the first day of my life with the best club in the world."
Marcelo on advice he's been given
"I have received plenty. Sergio Ramos talks a lot with me and since I arrived he has helped me a lot. I appreciate all the advice he has given me."
Marcelo's message to the Madrid fans
"I thank all those who have supported me and believed in my work. I always give my best for this badge and for you. I'm very happy and it's one of the best days of my life."
