The club replied to Football Leaks' claims with a statement in which they say: "UEFA closed the case immediately" and describe the allegations as "insubstantial".
Real Madrid have responded to a report published by Football Leaks, concerning suspicious results from two anti-doping controls which Sergio Ramos was subjected to by UEFA's anti-doping control officers. Madrid released the following statement:
With regard to the information published by Der Spiegel in reference to our captain Sergio Ramos, the club would like to state the following:
1. Sergio Ramos has never breached the anti-doping control regulations.
2. UEFA requested prompt information and closed the case immediately, as is usual in these cases, after gaining proof from the World Anti-Doping Agency’s own experts (WADA) and UEFA.
3. Regarding the rest of the information reported by the aforementioned publication, the club has no further comment to make, in the face of such unsubstantiated claims.
