The Real Madrid right-back was asked for his thoughts on Cristiano's comments and compared his first few month with Lopetegui with his time under Solari.

Real Madrid right-back Álvaro Odriozola joined coach Santiago Solari in today's press conference to preview Wednesday's Matchday 6 meeting with CSKA Moscow - which brings the Champions League group stage to a close. The defender was inevitably asked about Cristiano Ronaldo's recent comments in Italy, and had a few kind words to say about his old coach, Julen Lopetegui.

First few months at Real Madrid: "I've felt very comfortable. It was always my dream to play for Real Madrid and these first few months have been very positive. I'm off the mark - I've scored and made three assists. I've come here to give everything I've got and things are turning out well - I couldn't be happier".

Special European nights

Champions League: "The Champions League has that aura that gives us a extra special motivation. Being out on the pitch listening to the hymn is going to be beautiful, I can't wait. All that's left is to work to make it a great game, which is the important thing".

Unity and humility

Cristiano Ronaldo's comments: "I have the utmost respect for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is legend for Real Madrid, but I think it's all water under the bridge now. I wasn't at the club at the same time as him but in my experience, it's like a family here and I've been surprised by the humility shown by my team mates who are world and European champions. I've also been surprised by the hunger they have and we are united in the hard work we do every day".

Club World Cup: "I can't wait for the Club World Cup to arrive. We are in with a chance of winning it and we're feeling hopeful. I've never played in this tournament so it's going to be a nice experience for me. I don't know much about the other teams but I know they'll be giving 100% - it's a very difficult competition but we'll be going all out to win it".
