The Manchester City manager said the club won't be making any reinforcements in the winter transfer window, which opens on New Year's Day.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that the club won't be making any signings when the winter transfer window opens next month. The Spanish coach effectively quashed all of the rumours that have been doing the rounds over the past few weeks, linking numerous players to City.
Ahead of the midweek win against Hoffenheim in the Champions League, when asked about City's reported interest in Atlético de Madrid midfielder Saúl Ñíguez, Guardiola announced that City have no plans to sign the player and added that some of the transfer mill gossip even concerned players he has no knowledge of.
City's injured stars nearing return
Moving on to tomorrow's Premier League meeting with Everton, Guardiola wouldn't say whether Sergio Agüero and Kevin de Bruyne are ready to return from injury. He did confirmed that both players are now training without any problems but he has not decided if either, or both, will feature against Everton. City will be hoping to reclaim top spot in the table after last week's defeat to Chelsea meant they slipped to second. Liverpool who moved into pole position, take on Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.
