Five LaLiga players are in the newspaper's 2018 ideal XI, which features three members of France's World Cup-winning team.
Real Madrid are once again the most prominent club in a L'Équipe team of the year which is also dominated by France's World Cup winners.
Three Real Madrid men and Cristiano in XI
Three Madrid players - Raphael Varane, Marcelo and Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modric - are included in the French newspaper's 2018 ideal XI, as is Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the European champions for Juventus in the summer.
Griezmann left out despite helping France to World Cup
Alongside N'Golo Kanté and Kylian Mbappé, Varane is one of three members of France's world title-winning side in the line-up - which, however, does not feature Atlético Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, who also played a key role in Les Bleus' triumph in Russia.
Having not even been nominated for FIFA's The Best awards or the FIFA/FIFPro World 11, Griezmann's Atleti club-mate Jan Oblak does make the team, whose LaLiga presence is completed by Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
Also in the XI are Chelsea's Belgium star Eden Hazard and two defenders from Champions League runners-up Liverpool: Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.
Five players keep their places in ideal line-up
Five of the men chosen - Marcelo, Kanté, Modric, Messi and Cristiano - were also in the 2017 team.
