BARCELONA - REAL MADRID

Solari could make up to seven changes for el Clásico

Carvajal, con Brahim, Solari y Modric.

DIARIO AS

Five changes are almost certain but Solari has two big decisions to make as Real Madrid prepare for Barcelona in the Copa del Rey Clásico semi-final.

The Real Madrid side that beat Alavés on Sunday night could look a lot different to the one rolled out on Wednesday night at the Camp Nou for the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final. Solari is planning to rotate quite heavily in an effort to keep his side fresh due to a hectic schedule in the coming weeks.

He could make up to seven changes to the starting eleven from Sunday. Five of those are almost certain but Solari could make another two for tactical reasons.

Keylor Navas will replace Courtois in goals as he has been the Copa del Rey goalkeeper this season and is proving the only chance for the Costa Rican to play since Solari took over.

Carvajal will replace Odriozola despite the young right-back's impressive display against Alavés. Ramos will be partnered by Raphael Varane with Nacho making way also. This is where things get tricky for Solari. Does he play Marcelo on the left or stick with Reguilón, who has been impressive in his stead.

The next decision needs to be made at the base of midfield. Does he line up with Marco Llorente or Casemiro, who has returned after injury in top form.

Kroos, after a break last weekend, will replace Dani Ceballos alongside Luka Modric. Lucas Vazquez should come in after a break against Alavés also with Benzema continuing up front. And the final decision to be made is whether Bale or Vinicius starts on the left. Both started on Sunday but the Brazilian was much better than the Welsh player and the 18-year-old scored a goal too to cap an impressive display.
