A hamstring problem will see the former Gremio player miss up to four weeks of match activity and will play no role in the two El Clasicos or Champions League game.

Bad news for Barcelona as the Catalan club confirm that Arthur Melo will be out of action for a period of three to four weeks after sustaining a problem in his left hamstring.

Exploratory rests revealed the tear which will the rule Brazilian out of the Champions League trip away to Olympique Lyon on February 19 with doubts still lingering if he will be fit for the two games against Real Madrid in the Spanish cup on February 27 and and the league clash the same week.

In his first season with the Catalan side, the Brazilian has become a regular in the starting XI for coach Ernesto Valverde marshalling the central of the field for Barcelona alongside the likes of Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal.
