PSG, Manchester United and Red Star Belgrade fined by UEFA

Lighting flares inside the stadium, throwing objects onto the pitch, unfurling illicit banners and blocking stairways were the offences committed, say UEFA's CEDB.

UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body handed out fines to Red Star Belgrade, Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain this afternoon, while PSG coach Thomas Tuchel was given a one-match suspension which has been deferred for a probationary period of twelve months.

The CEDB opened a disciplinary case concerning the incidents which happened during the first leg of the Champions League Last 16 tie between Manchester United and PSG on 12 February. The Commission fined PSG 41.000 euros for setting off flares inside the stadium, throwing objects on the pitch, crowd disturbance and for damage caused to the stadium.

The French club has a maximum of 30 days to reach a settlement with Manchester United regarding the damage caused by their fans to seats and the segregation net at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been served a 16.000 euro fine for blocking the stairways and launching objects onto the pitch.

The CEDB closed their case on Red Star's group game against PSG on 11 December, serving a one-match ban to coach Thomas Tuchel for improper conduct. The French champions were also handed a 25.000 euro fine for delay in the kick-off while Red Star were hit with a 64.000 euro fine for illicit chants and blocking the stairways at the stadium.
