Simeone planning to field Costa, Griezmann and Morata together

Seeing a three-pronged attack with Diego Costa-Morata and Griezmann is a dream for a lot of Atlético fans. It will happen once Costa is back to full fitness.

Simeone will field his three strikers together once Diego Costa is back at full fitness. Costa reappered against Rayo Vallecano just under a fortnight ago after spending 75 days on the sidelines and so far, he's been bringing the team the kind of freshness they have been lacking. In the Rayo game, Simeone played three up front for the final half hour and Atlético, with Thomas Lemar playing a supporting role, ended up winning 0-1. It was only with the trio on the pitch that Atleti clearly started dominating their opponents.

In the following game, against Juventus, Diego Costa started in place of Morata. The winter window signing came on for Diego Costa in the second half but it was the other way around in the next match against Villarreal - Morata started and was replaced by Costa on the hour mark.

A lot of rojiblanco fans can't wait for the next time Costa, Morata and Griezmann lead the team's attack together. It's an option which Simeone isn't ruling out but he will only use when all three are in peak form. In the Rayo game, Griezmann moved out to the left and took control of the team's attacking moves from there which pleased El Cholo no end.
