Ajax ultras have a game of 'hit the flag' in Madrid's Plaza Mayor

Ajax fans had a football and plenty of songs in Madrid on Tuesday as their side play Real Madrid in the Bernabéu for a place in the Champions League quarter-final.

Puerta del Sol in the middle of Madrid was throbbing on Tuesday afternoon with Ajax fans. They filled both Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor with songs for their side as they look to knock Real Madrid out of Europe on Tuesday night at the Bernabéu.

The effervescence of the Dutch has caused plenty of commotion in the capital as passers by stopped to take photos and videos of the travelling fans. There were more than 400 fans congregated with scarves, flags, banners and songs for the four-time Champions League winners.

There is expected to be 4,223 away fans at the stadium on Tuesday night and the game has been deemed high risk given the presence of F-Side, Ajax' ultras, who have found themselves on the wrong side of the law in recent weeks.

According to information provided by the government, there will be 2,000 security forces on duty for the game with 500 Policía Nacional, 90 municipial police and 1,270 security officers from the club.
