The striker had been back in Brazil recovering from his injury and enjoying Carnival.
Neymar was left distraught on his return to Paris, as he watched his teammates slump to a 1-3 defeat at home to Manchester United in the Champions League to go out on away goals 3-3 on aggregate.
Neymar is out until the middle of April with a foot injury - but he was in the stands having returned to Paris from his native Brazil, where he had travelled to continue his recovery and where he also spent time at the Carnival festivities.
Having looked relaxed for most of the match, Neymar was seen pacing in a state of high agitation after Man Utd were awarded a penalty, which was converted by Rashford to put them ahead in the tie. The Brazilian star then stayed on his feet exhorting his teammates to get the goal that would see them through, but to no avail as PSG failed to find an opening in the extra six minutes of time added on.
Neymar under fire for Carnival partying
Neymar has once again been the centre of controversy as he was criticised after images appeared of him dancing at the Carnival celebrations, and kissing 19-year old singer Rafaela Porto. Commentators in France accused the player of a lack of respect to his club, given that he was given the time away from France to focus on his recovery from injury, not spend time partying.
Neymar: I look after myself
In an interview with Esporte Espetacular Neymar defended himself: "What I post on social media is my private life. I'm someone who takes care of myself. I know when it's the right time [for things]. If I want to dance, I dance. I just need to be aware of what I'm going to do the next day. If I've got a game obviously I'm not going to go out. When I'm going to play I need to be well prepared".
