British Cycling has revoked the affiliation of a cycling club based in London after discovering that its initials, PPCC, stood for “Porn Pedallers Cycling Club."

The team, which is made up of adult film actors and other members of the sector, has been present at events including the Tour de France and Tour of Flanders and operates to raise money for the Terrence Higgins Trust, which works to raise awareness of HIV.

Cycling is for everyone, exepct us,” PPCC said on social media after hearing the news, with British Cycling pointing to Article 1.1.089 of the International Cycling Union’s code of conduct, which states: “No pornographic bis products or any other products that might damage the image of the UCI of the sport of cycling in general shall be associated directly or indirectly with a licence-holder.”

PPCC was founded in 2016 by Television X owner Chris Ratcliff for industry members with a love of cycling. “We're just a cycling club, riding for fun & raising money for THTorguk,” PPCC said on social media.

British Cycling has since stated it will work with PPCC to try and ensure that the team meets UCI regulations. “We try to support everyone who actively encourages others to take up cycling, and we appreciate the efforts of everyone who contributes to our sport,” British Cycling said in a statement.
