Back in 2014, when Jesé saw himself winning the Ballon d'Or
Jesé Rodríguez told Cadena SER in 2014 that it would be just a question of "four to five years" before he won the Ballon d'Or. "I think I've got the talent to do it".

There are few things more fickle than the world of football – just ask Jesé Rodríguez who was making waves at Real Madrid back in 2014 when he pictured himself in the not too distant future, lifting the Ballon d’Or. Shortly after this interview with Cadena SER, Jesé suffered a serious ligament injury which put his progression on hold.
Any thoughts on the Ballon d’Or?
Jesé: “It’s very difficult and it’s a dream of mine to win it one day. Maybe between now and in four years’ time, I can do it”.
In four years’ time? You see yourself winning the Ballon dÓr four years from now?
Jesé: “Yeah, in four or five years. I think I’ve got the talent to win it”.
