UEFA open case on Neymar for criticism of ref after United game

The Brazilian was not on the field against Manchester United but he took to Instagram after to complaing about the decision to award United a late penalty.

UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Neymar for his comments on social media after PSG were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United in France thanks to a late penalty converted by Marcus Rashford.

He took to Instagram and said it was "a disgrace" to put put four guys in charge of making decisions who didn't know how to analyse football.

Reports in France also said he tried to get into the dressing room where the referee, Damir Skomina, was before his teammates intervened. That didn't stop him logging into his social media account and giving a piece of his mind.

Charges against Paris Saint-Germain

- Player Neymar Junior - Insulting / molesting acts against match official (statements made by the player following the above-mentioned match) - Art. 15 (1) (d) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations

The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body with the date of the hearing yet to be confirmed.
