The Argentine striker was back in the Inter team for the first time in two months as the 'Nerazzurri' hit Genoa for four.
After two months of being sidelined from the Inter Milan squad, Mauro Icardi was recalled to the side by coach Luciano Spalletti as the Milanese side travelled to face Genoa away. The Argentine striker started the game and bagged the second of the evening as Inter strolled to a comfortable 0-4 win.
Despite the convincing score line, it was far from a placid evening for Icardi on his return with the player suffering the ire from the travelling Nerazzurri supporters who yelled abuse at the player during but especially before the match with shouts of: "get out of here you piece of shit" audible from the away end.
Uncertainty shrouds the Argentine's future with the Serie A side. His current deal expires in 2021 and as yet the player has yet to sit down to renegotiate an extension or renewal. The latest spat of abuse from the Inter fans will do little for the player's appetite to stay with the Milanese club with everything pointing to an exit for the striker during the summer transfer window.
