Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol reported that Oliver Mintzlaff, head of soccer at New York Red Bulls, will travel to London to finalise negotiations with Henry.
Sky Sports journalist, Kaveh Solhekol, reported on social media that the sports and commercial departments had given the green light to bring the Frenchman back to New York, this time as the new head coach. Therefore, Oliver Mintzlaff, in charge of decision-making on the sporting side, will travel to London next week to close the deal with Henry.
Rumors about Henry coming back to the MLS began last week after New York's lousy start to the season, winning a mere five points out of 18 available. They also had the chance to end their wretched run against the worst team in the Western Conference, but failed to do so.

Henry's career as coach
The French international is inexperienced as a coach and his last position is not overly promising for the Red Bulls: Henry took over AS Monaco in similar circumstances; but was dismissed three months into the job.
Why bring Henry?
The reason the board wants to Henry as a strategist has to do with his knowledge of the American league as he played four seasons there before retiring. He could also help with marketing; but despite playing in the MLS and knowing how the league works, it will not be easy for 'Tití' to reverse the NY team's fortunes.
