Approximately 200 Lazio ultras faced the police with missiles thrown and a police car set a blaze ahead of the Atalanta-Lazio final.

There were scenes of high tension outside the Stadio Olimpico this evening ahead of the 2018-19 Coppa Italia final as Lazio face Atalanta from Bergamo.

Approximately 200 hardcore Lazio supporters tried to break into the away section outside the stadium where Atalanta fans gathered ahead of kick-off with the fans clashing with police creating scenes of panic which saw missiles launched at the law enforcement agents and a police car being set on fire.

The focal point for the trouble was the Milvio bridge as riot police were forced to use tear-gas to disperse the ultras. Earlier a car belonging to a Lazio supporter was intercepted with the vehicle containing 70 flares and 60 smoke-bombs.

More than 20,000 visiting fans from Bergamo were expected in the Italian capital as the La Dea look to add to their single existing Italian cup win.
