PSG won't move for Griezmann - Radio Montecarlo

Sources at the French club denied there had been a meeting with the striker's family. The Frenchman has announced his departure from Atlético Madrid.

PSG were involved in a bidding war with Barcelona to sign Griezmann, who earlier this week announced he was leaving Atlético Madrid. That was the information from Le Parisien. But today Radio Montecarlo offered a very different version. According to the broadcaster, there is absolutely no possibility the player will move to Paris.

Griezmann to Barcelona a done deal

According to Radio Montecarlo's sources at PSG, Griezmann to Barcelona is a done deal. "If we'd signed Griezmann in March we'd have been criticised", said the source, who stressed that PSG don't need a striker, because they have Neymar and Mbappé in their squad. What the French club are looking for this summer is in defence and the middle of the park.

No meeting between PSG and Griezmann family

PSG sources denied there had been a meeting between the club and members of Griezmann's family, and confirmed that the player was keen to stay in LaLiga with a move to Barcelona.

If this is the case, the Griezmann transfer soap opera could be far closer to being resolved than some thought, putting an end to one strand of speculation that saw Neymar moving to Real Madrid where Griezmann moved to PSG, in a domino-style effect.
