The former Barça player asked that fans show patience with De Jong and felt that a Neymar return would be no bad thing.
Jordi Cruyff spoke to the media as part of the annual open day at his father's Fundación Johan Cruyff in Barcelona and reflected on the latest development with the Catalan side.
"The Ajax adventure in the Champions League was a great story and a shame it ended in such dramatic fashion. It's great to see what they do with their youth players. Things are different at Barça where demands and expectation is higher".
"Barça should always monitor what's happening at a club like Ajax. We still don't know what is happening with De Ligt. De Jong is a young talent and will need adaptation moving to a new country and new culture."
"Neymar for me is one of the top five most talented players in the world at present. Sadly at present, people are talking about him for no sporting reasons but he is an excellent footballer. At the end of the day, the fans want to see good players. If he comes back and the others are happy with that then that is his decision".
