The Spanish striker admitted things sunk to a low at Chlesea after he suffered a back injury. Before that however, he was among the Premier League's top scorers.

Álvaro Morata sunk to a low at Chlesea after suffering a back injury just a few months into his first season at Stamford Bridge. The Spanish striker, who had been among the Premier League's top scorers when he feel injured, confessed that he struggled coping with some of the comments he was subjected to out on the street.

“In the first 10 games of the season, I was level with Harry Kane and [Mohamed] Salah on eight or nine goals. The fans made up a song for me – I couldn’t even go out on to the streets in London… Then I woke up one day and felt a sharp pain in my back. Out on the pitch, my level started to drop and then people would say all kinds of things to me on the street. And that’s in England – a country which theoretically, always show great respect… anyway…”
