Griezmann: "I already know where I'll play next season"
Antoine Griezmann didn’t want to give any more clues about his future club, although it is widely expected to be Barcelona.
When Antoine Griezmann announced that he was leaving Atlético Madrid three weeks ago, he wasn’t jumping into the abyss without a safety net.
In fact, the French striker left it very clear this Saturday that his future is already well and truly tied down, and he is now just waiting for the day when he can officially announce his new club.
“I already know where I’m going to play next season,” said the 28-year-old footballer in an interview with French TV programme, TéléMatin.
“It won’t be Miami” – Griezmann
Griezmann didn’t want to give any more clues about his future club, although it is widely expected to be Barcelona, with whom he has been heavily linked for months. However he did ensure, somewhat jokingly, that it won’t be in the U.S., where he has often spoke about going to see out the twilight years of his career.
“I can only say that it will not be Miami,” said the player, probably making reference to David Beckham’s new Inter Miami franchise.
Of course Barcelona and Griezmann will not be able to make his signing official until July 1, which is the day his release clause drops from 200 million to 120 million euros (as had been agreed with Altético when he signed a new contract last summer).
