According to Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf, the Barcelona and PSG target's partner, Anne Kee Molenaar and mother were in the French capital with purpose.
The future of Ajax youngster Matthijs de Ligt is moving ever closer to being resolved, and the feeling is increasingly that it will involve life in the French capital. On Friday, Dutch paper De Telegraaf reported that the player's girlfriend, Anne Kee Molenaar, along with her mother were visiting Paris in search of a suitable home to live in when the big-money signing is confirmed.
Parisien De Ligt
Paris Saint-Germain appears to be best placed now in the race for the 19-year-old central defender, who is also being chased by Juventus and Barcelona. In fact, until very recently, the Spanish champions had been nailed on to sign the Dutch international, before PSG upped the ante by matching the 75 million offered to Ajax by Barça and throwing down a reported salary to the player which was double that he'd been promised for a LaLiga move. That 12 million euros, compared to the six offered by Barcelona and ten by Juventus, appears to have turned the player's head. The paper also stated that his agent Mino Raiola - who has just been freed from a ban - has spoken with PSG director, Antero Henrique directly.
De Ligt would be a useful reinforcement to the PSG defence, adding to Thiago Silva, Kimpembe, Kehrer and Marquinhos, the latter whom Thomas Tuchel has also used as a defensive midfielder.
The Ajax captain got an expletively-wonderful send-off after an excellent season under Erik ten Haag. The academy lad played 55 games over an incredible season, scoring seven, as he led his side to the domestic double and a Champions League run to remember, one that had them just seconds from the final.
