LALIGA

€520M spent by LaLiga clubs in 19 days of transfer activity

€520M spent by LaLiga clubs in 19 days of transfer activity

To date this summer, LaLiga leads the way of the major European leagues transfer spends. In the summer of 2017 the total outlay was 557 million euro.

Spain's LaLiga has already seen 41 transactions this summer so far with the current spend by Spanish club's reaching 520 million euro and is on track to comfortably surpass the total spend of € 934,270.000 which was spent on players during the summer window of 2018.

At present, LaLiga leads the way in financial outlay, ahead of Germany's Bundesliga (384 million), Serie A (292), Premier League (196), Ligue 1 (32) and Portugal's Liga NOS (28). Real Madrid alone have invested more than the combined outlay of the English, French and Portuguese leagues.

EDEN HAZARD

Big Spenders

Madrid lead the way in the big spender stakes to date and are currently followed by Barça on 87 million and Sevilla with 40 million already invested in new talent. Betis (30) and Real Sociedad (11) complete the high spender ranking with Atletico Madrid set to add to the overall tally when the deal involving Benfica striker Joao Felix is set to be confirmed on Wednesday (June 19).

The highest priced players are shared by Real Madrid and FC Barcelona with Eden Hazard costing the Bernabeú side 100 million euro, Barça signing De Jong from Ajax cost the Catalan side 75 million euro and Luka Jovic's move from Eintracht Frankfurt set the club from the capital back 60 million euro.

The spending splurge is a stark contrast from the summer of 2017 where LaLiga was one of the major five European leagues to see a modest outlay with just 557 million euro being spent by Spain's top flight clubs.
