Jesse Lingard blasted for "embarrassing" snapchat video boasting of bedroom antics

Jesse Lingard blasted for "embarrassing" snapchat video boasting of bedroom antics

"Seen a lot of shit in this room, a lot of fucking shit, a lot of good memories in this room," said the Manchester United midfielder in a video posted while on holiday in Miami.

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has been slammed by fans and former players after posting a video to social media, in which he appears to boast about the sexual antics going on in a hotel suite he was sharing with team mate Marcos Rashford.

In the video, Lingard gives a virtual tour of the luxury hotel suite the pair were sharing while enjoying a holiday in Miami, and begins the tour in his own bedroom.

“Bye room, it’s been emotional,” he says. "Seen a lot of shit in this room, a lot of fucking shit, a lot of good memories in this room.”

Lingard then proceeds onto the room of Rashford, who is briefly seen in the video, and continues: "Seen a lot of shit, a lot of sleeping don't forget, a lot of sleeping in this room.”

He then moves on to the third bedroom of friend “Jamal”, who is seen pretending to “shag” in the bed, while Lingard says: "Now on to Jamal. Shagging there as per! Probably shagging his own hand under that bed. Shagging pillows.”

“Embarrassing”: United fans react to Lingard video

Several United fans have reacted to the video, calling the 27-year-old midfielder’s behaviour “embarrassing” and “disrespectful”, with some fans even demanding that he be axed from the club.

“We pay this fu**ing prick to play for our great club. This madness needs to end and he needs to be thrown out asap,” said one fan on Twitter.

“Why Lingard feels the need to do this is beyond me. Of course he’s entitled to a holiday but he’s at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Doesn’t help him at all,” tweeted Manchester-based journalist and author, Tom McDermott.

What are Roy Keane and Alex Ferguson thinking? – Ally McCoist

Ex-Scotland and Rangers legend Ally McCoist also criticised Lingard’s behaviour but said “nonsense on social media” no longer surprises him.

“I understand totally that social media is a massive part of today’s world, particularly with the younger generation,” McCoist said on talkSPORT.

“I’m looking at the reaction from Manchester United fans, and they’re worse than angry, they feel completely let down. He’s well entitled to go on holiday and have a good time, but why would you put something like that on social media? Does he actually think that’s going to benefit him?

“I don’t think there’s ever been as much of a gulf between the top players and the fans. Young fans are looking for role models – that isn’t a role model. Bryan Robson, Roy Keane, Sir Alex Ferguson, imagine them watching that – what are they thinking?”
