Real Madrid: Bale, Isco, James... an unwanted XI

Keylor Navas - 10 million euros

The Costa Rica stopper is set to be offloaded this summer with Thibaut Courtois preferred as Zidane's number one. Benfica are in talks over the 32-year-old.

Update:

Lucas Vázquez - 25 million euros

The utility man is not a priority departure but with Madrid now having eight wide men the occasional right back will be moved on if a suitable offer comes in.

Update:

Jesús Vallejo - 10 million euros

The central defender has been plagued by injuries but does not seem to have won over Zidane and will be allowed to leave with Sergio Ramos, Raphaël Varane and Éder Militão well ahead in the pecking order.

Update:

Nacho - 25 million euros

A one-club man and fan favourite who has rarely rocked the boat, Nacho is another player who will not benefit from Florentino Pérez's summer spree. The left back, right back and central defensive positions are all so well-covered that he is third choice in any of them at best. Serie A seems a likely destination, with Roma holding a long-standing interest and Napoli another obvious destination, where he would be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti.

Update:

Theo Hernández - 15 million euros

The left back was snapped up from Atlético after an impressive loan stint at Alavés but failed to challenge Marcelo in his single season under Zidane and was shipped out to Real Sociedad, who have elected not to take up their option. Milan and Juventus are apparently keen.

Update:

Dani Ceballos - 30 million euros

The Spain midfielder is currently impressing at the under-21 Euros and Milan are very keen on a loan deal but Madrid are holding out for a permanent transfer worth 50 million euros.

Update:

Martin Odegaard - 15 million euros

The next big thing arrived at the Bernabéu in January 2015 but failed to impress Zidane and has been loaned out to Heerenveen and Vitesse Arnhem. Ajax expressed an interest but did not follow up after Real's 20-million-euro valuation but Milan are interested and a few Liga sides may lodge loan applications this summer.

Update:

Isco - 60 million euros

The great "what-if" of the Zidane era... Isco has never really nailed down a first-team spot and spent large parts of last season stewing on the bench. Zidane likes the midfielder but won't shed too many tears with Eden Hazard incoming if Real can make a profit on the player they signed from Málaga for 30 million in 2013.

Update:

James Rodríguez - 50 million euros

The Colombia midfielder and Zidane are none too fond and after Bayern decided not to exercise theri 42-million-euro purchase option after a two-year loan deal, Madrid will seek to bank around that amount from any other potential suitor with Napoli the current front-runner.

Update:

Gareth Bale - 60 million euros

The jewel in the crown as far as reeling in some cash is concerned, Bale hardly featured after the return of Zidane and was a constant source of the fans' ire during the 2018-19 season. However, he has three years to run on his contract and a huge salary, leading to a conspicuous absence of suitors.

Update:

Mariano - 20 million euros

Bought back from Lyon for 20 million euros, Mariano scored a few when handed his chance but only managed 746 minutes under Real's three coaches last season and will be shipped out with the arrival of Luka Jovic giving Zidane an enviable choice of the Serbian or Karim Benzema for the number nine spot.
