Pogba still in New York as Man United expect his return

Manchester United fly to Perth on Sunday and the club has said that Pogba will 100-percent be in Australia with the rest of his team mates, amid the interest of Real Madrid.

Pogba, en Nueva York.

There is still no sign of Paul Pogba in Manchester.

The majority of his Manchester United team mates are back at work since Monday. And the Frenchman was given the option to return to the club’s Carrington training ground this Friday ahead of the pre-season tour, which kicks off in Australia.

But the club have given the player permission to remain on vacation for a few extra days so he can finish up some PR commitments for his sponsors Adidas in New York, where he has been for the past week.

Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his squad will fly to Perth on Sunday and the club has said that Pogba will 100-percent be in Australia with the rest of his team mates. Although, they have not specified if he will arrive in Manchester first and then fly out with the team on Sunday, or if he will go directly from New York.

Pogba will ask United to let him go - reports

United's discretion around Pogba is resolute, as they know all of the interest that he is generating at the moment is solely due his intention to leave and the constant links with Real Madrid, where coach Zinedine Zidane has asked the club to make every effort to sign him.

Reports in the British press claim that Pogba wants to sit down with Solskjaer to ask him to urge United's board to open talks with Madrid.

Madrid have made two approaches but in both cases United have refused to even name a price for the 26-year-old. As such, it seems the next step will have to be taken by Pogba himself by putting in an official transfer request, which, out of respect for the player’s wishes, would force United to sit down and negotiate his sale.
