The big day for Christian Pulisic arrived as he made his first career start for Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup final against Liverpool.

The US international played a total of 74 minutes in Chelsea's defeat to The Reds, setting up Giroud's goal in the 36th minute to give Frank Lampard's side the initial lead.

Despite Chelsea's loss, Pulisic showed glimpses of what he can offer to the team, displaying flexibility to come inside and distribute, such as the assist to the French striker, which was a superb move in a tight space that he made look easy.

The Goal

Pulisic could have had a dream start as the young American sent the ball to the back of the net to give Chelsea the 2-0 lead; however, the goal was rightfully called offside.
