The first international break is upon us and it will mean Zinedine Zidane is left with seven players from his first team squad for training. The injury crisis which has claimed Isco, James, Rodrygo, Brahim and Asensio along with Hazard as its victims leaves Zidane with a very thin group of players to work with in Valdebebad for the next week. They train on Wednesday morning at 11:00 with 14 members of their first team missing.

Aside from the enormous time commitment, the players will travel a total of 127,000 kilometres over the break. The ones who will travel the longest are Militao, Casemiro and Vinicius, who will make his Brazilian squad debut. They travel 20,295 km to play Colombia in Miami and then Peru in Los Angeles.

European with a lighter travel schedule but still taxing

The South Americans will only play friendlies between now and March 2020 when they begin their pursuit of a place in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The European players have two games in Euro 2020 qualification aside from Bale's Wales who don't play in the second fixture date. They will, however, take advantage of the chance to play a friendly against Belarus in Cardiff.

Those with the lightest travel schedule are Areola and Varane, who flew to PAris for game against Albania and then Andorra. A little over 2,000 km for each one. In comparison, Modric will travel close to 10,000 km with Croatia as they play Slovakia and Azerbaijan. Carvajal and Ramos will play against Romania and then in Gijón against the Faroe Islands.
