Carlos Amadeu, the former Brazil under-20 coach, is the only manager to coach them both and says he doesn't see the success going to their heads.

Vinicius and Rodrygo's former coach explains who is more ready

Vinicius and Rodrygo lit up the Bernabéu on Wednesday night. In Brazil, they are watching the development of the two players closely. One such person is Carlos Amadeu, the former Brazil under-20 manager, who had the priviledge to manage both of the young stars.

Are you surprised by their goals?

"The whole world knows that they are the chosen ones. They are you and they are in a period of adaptation and quick maturation, which is good because it means they are facing difficult challenges."

Have you spoken with them about some of the criticism they have receieved?

"The young talents always dream about getting to the big clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona. They told me that the club is absolutely massive and for this, there is noise made about the good and the bad. They are both very happy to wear the Real Madrid jersey and they want to stay there for many years."

Do you think they could be victims of their own success?

"I don't know if it will go to their heads because they are well-equipped by their families and the people close to them. It's difficult to leave Brazil so young and they have made the move with humility."

Are you worried that they are lacking goals?

"They are positive because they have the ability to become great athletes and both are players who can get goals. Rodrigo always got goals with Santos and Vinicius in Flamengo's underage teams too. It's true that their ability to get goals has diminished once they go to the professional level because that's normal."

What is the difference between Vinicius and Rodrygo?

"Vinicius is more ready, stronger with a nice change of direction and ability to change speed. Rodrygo is a player who changes play in less times have different movements with the ball at his feet. He is good at unbalancing teams too."

Do you see yourself coaching in Spain one day close to them?

"I'm not ruling it out. I like Spanish football a lot and I know the language and the style of play there."
