Real Madrid player ratings against Atlético Madrid
Casemiro had a fine game, while Hazard had another off night as Real Madrid drew 0-0 with Atleti at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
It was a game that had plenty of battling spirit from both sides but, as is often the case in Madrid derbies, goals were hard to come by. Here's how we rated the individual performances of Los Blancos players:
Second clean sheet in a row, the big Belgian keeper is growing in confidence. Made a vital intervention in the first half to get a hand on a Trippier cross.
Impeccable in defence. In the first half he dominated Vitolo, to the point where Simeone took him off at half-time. Lacked a little penetration going forward but more than made up for it with his solidity.
His best game of the season so far. Focused, read the game well to cut out dangerous balls and was solid in the air. Negated the best efforts of the Atleti attack.
Good game from the Real Madrid captain, keeping his side well ordered, without making any errors. Coped easily with Diego Costa and Joao Félix.
Decent, as is usual, but produced little offensively. Picked up a yellow after 22 minutes for a foul on Trippier.
Another fine game. He's in good form right now. A solid wall in the midfield, he also dropped back as and when needed and was equally good helping out in defence.
Zidane's surprise in the starting XI. Covers a lot of ground and helps free up Kroos, who improves with the Uruguayan by his side. Coped well with the pressure and had a decent 68 minutes before coming off for Modric.
Man of the match. Real Madrid played at his rhythm, with short balls, long balls... an exhibition. He had the best chance for Real Madrid in the first half, with a shot from outside the area that Oblak saved.
Tracked back to help out, but offered little up front, particularly in the first half. In the second he had a good chance, but he skied it.
A bad day at the office for the Belgian. Only managed to come up with one sparkling move, beating Savic in the first half. He's far from close to being fully fit, which hampers him when trying his classic diagonal runs looking for a shot.
Never got fully comfortable against a solid Atlético defence, but did force Oblak into producing a world class save from a header in the second half.
Back from injury, he played 20 minutes and improved Madrid's level, which had dropped and was struggling to break past Atleti's lines.
Played the last few minutes and was off the pace.
Came on right at the end and was barely involved.
