Benzema: Mallorca, Galatsaray, Barça "very difficult" games
"Im feeling good, as are the rest of the team, and little by little we will get to a high level where we are in a position to win all of our games."
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has said that the squad is in good shape going into a tricky week of football that includes a trip to San Moix to play Mallorca, an away game at Galatasaray where Zinedine Zidane’s side will attempt to kick-start their Champions League campaign and then the Clásico against Barcelona at Camp Nou on 26 October.
“I’m feeling good, as are the rest of the team, and little by little we will get to a high level where we are in a position to win all of our games,” the Frenchman said on Friday as he was awarded the Mahou Player of the Month award for September, which is voted for by fans.
Real have endured a stuttering start to the season, dropping points in LaLiga against Valladolid, Villarreal and Atlético yet remaining unbeaten, while picking up a single point in Europe after a thumping from PSG in Paris and a 2-2 draw against Club Brugge in the Bernabéu.
Benzema: "We have three very difficult games"
Now Real will travel to Mallorca to try and maintain their slender lead at the top of the league table, before heading to Barcelona for a showdown with the reigning champions.
“We know it won’t be an easy game [in Mallorca] and it’s an important one for us because after that we have the Champions League. I think we are going to have three very difficult games, but we’re in shape and ready for them.”
Benzema is the top scorer in LaLiga on six goals, level with Loren (Betis) and Gerard Moreno (Villarreal).
