Zidane's Madrid has a poorer league record than Solari's
In his second spell as Madrid coach, Zidane has won 50% of the team's league games while Solari managed 70.59% during his brief spell on the bench.
During his second stint as coach at Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane's figures in LaLiga have left a lot ot be desired. Even the first defeat of the new season came in Week 9, his statistics are already worse than those of the man he replaced in the job, Santiago Solari - and Rafa Benítez's. In the last decade, only Julen Lopetegui has gained a worse success rate with Real Madrid in the domestic league.
Madrid have just just half of their games in LaLiga since Zidane returned in March this year - 10 wins, five draws and five defeats in 20 games. While much of that is down to the poor run the team suffered at the tail end of last season, winning just five games out of 11 (45.5%), this season they have managed just five wins from nine (55.6%) - Benítez's Madrid boasted better figures.
Madrid's coaches' figures after the first nine games
During the past 10 years, Madrid have usually won at least six of the first nine games of the season - apart from on two occasions: in 2012-2013 (five wins from the opening nine games in José Mourinho's final season) and last season (the team posted four wins before Julen Lopetegui was dismissed). In the two seasons of his first spell as coach, Zidane's Madrid won six of the first nine games in LaLiga.
The coach with the best figures in the last 10 league campaigns was Manuel Pellegrini, who ended his first and only season in charge winning 81.58% of the 38 league games. The 96 points his side finished on wasn't quite enough from stopping Barcelona taking the title with 99. In total, Mourinho achieved 76.32% - 87 victories from 114 matches and Ancelotti registered 75% (57 wins from 76).

Immediately after Ancelotti, comes in his old assistant Zidane, who during his first spell at the helm logged 70.83% wins in LaLiga (68 out of 96). Closley behind him is Solari whose team scored 12 victories during his 17 games in charge in the league (70.59%). And going further back, Juande Ramos gained the same numbers as Zidane (17 wins from 24, 70.83%).
And bringing up the rear, Benítez (11 wins from 18, 61,%), Zidane in his second spell (10 from 20, 50%) and Lopetegui, whose team didn't manage to win even half of their league matches (4 from 10, 40%).
