"Messi didn't even acknowledge us after the game" - Slavia Prague's Ondrej Kolar
Slavia Prague's goalkeeper wasn't impressed with the attitude of several Barcelona players but said Ter Stegen had the good grace to congratulate him after the game.
Slavia Prague goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar put in one of the performances of his career at Camp Nou. Making a number of key saves, he was one the reasons why Barcelona were unable to find the target over the 90 minutes.
Kolar was clearly happy to have come away with a clean sheet and kept the team's chances of remaining in European competition alive but less pleasing was the aloof attitude of some of the Barça players after the final whistle. Only Marc-André Ter Stegen stayed to make a point of shaking his hand to congratulate him for the game he'd played.
We were really looking forward to meeting the Barcelona players - Kolar
"Ter Stegen waited for me in the players' tunnel. He stopped me and and told me that he hadn't seen a performance as good as that in a long time and said he liked how I played the ball with my feet. He stayed behind to tell me all of that and for me, that was a wonderful reward. To hear those words from such a great goalkeeper... I get goosebumps just thinking about it. Messi and the others left and didn't even acknowledge us. That was a bit sad. We were looking forward to meeting them and exchanging shirts at the end of the game but their attitude left a bit to be desired", Kolar explained.
Slavia still with a chance of claiming third place
After Tuesday's draw at Camp Nou, Slavia remain rooted to the bottom of Group F on two points- just two points behind Inter Milan, who they host on Matchday 5. The Czechs still have a chance of knocking Inter from third to qualify for the Europa League. Barça meanwhile top the group on eight points - one point ahead of Borussia Dortmund with two games left to play.
