Zidane says Barcelona won't be affected by their crisis: "They'll compete right to the very end"
Real Madrid's coach isn't ruling Barça out of the running and also spoke about the Mbappé-Tuchel incident: "I've got enough on my plate to worry about other people".
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is sure that Barça's institutional crisis won't have a major effect on their game. Zizou, who looked forward to tomorrow's Copa del Rey clash with Real Sociedad, was also asked about the Mbappé-Tuchel incident but says he is not in a position to comment: "I've got enough on my plate as it is to worry about other people".
Copa del Rey quarter final against Real Sociedad: “For us, it's a final, not a quarter final. If they beat us, we're out. They won't be giving us anything. We have to be immersed in the game from the first minute: La Real are a great side - as they have showed. They play good football and will do things right against us tomorrow”.
Barcelona crisis won't affect them
Crisis at Barcelona; the end for Messi? “I don't comment on other clubs. Barça will compete right to the last day of the season. Good teams don't just suddenly change, they are always good. As for the rest, it just doesn't interest me”.
Good time for Madrid to capitalise while there is friction at Barça: "We aren't going to make the most of anything because thety are not going to show any weakness. They'll continue competiing and doing things properly from now until the end of the season. We're doing well. We're happy - but we haven't won anything yet".
Mbappé-Tuchel: “I don't comment on others, or what they do. I have enough to deal with myself”.
The substitutions against Atlético were key to winning the game: “The ones who win games are the players out on the pitch. When I take players off, I'm not suggesting that they aren't performing well. It's my job to make changes to the team but at the end of the day, it's the players who change games. It's also an exaggeration to say that we played badly in the first half; we have a game every three days and we always have to try to compete - that means that occasionally, we're going to experience difficulties”.
Zidane has no anti-Odegaard plan
Ødegaard back at the Bernabéu: "I haven't planned anything special. He's one of our players. We're really happy with how he has been playing at Real Sociedad. Tomorrow he will be our rival and he'll be trying to help Real win. We've got to think about what we are going to do".
Vinicius: “He's a young player, who has quality. I'm very happy with him and have faith in him - as do all of the 25 players in my squad. But only 11 of them play, 18 are in the squad and the rest aren't included. Two things bug me - injuries and not being able to call a player”.
Valverde: “He has to improve all aspects of his game, and show that he has a place at Real Madrid. We're happy to have him on board”.
Jovic finding it hard to score: “We're trying to make him feel comfortable out on the pitch and you can only do that by training. Wat he's going through is normal - it's part of the adaptation process”.
