In 2020's edition, the French club have recieved a rank of 5.318, which is higher than Manchester City's 5.197. It is the first time in the three-year history of the report that an English club is not in first place.
The position of both clubs at the top of the list is based on the fact that their owners come from the Middle East, who are worth billions. The Ligue 1 side has managed those finances better, however.
The main reason why PSG rank higher than Man City is because of their reduction of debt. They wiped €70 million from their debt while the Premier League side added €90 million to theirs. Soccerex Football Finance 100 has five keys to their ranking: value of players, tangible assets, bank balance, investment potential from the owner and net debt.
