Barcelona player ratings vs Eibar

Lionel Messi is living in another galaxy and scored four goals for Barcelona as they beat Eibar 5-0 on Saturday in LaLiga at the Camp Nou. Arthur added the fifth.

Barcelona player ratings vs Eibar
GORKA LEIZADIARIO AS

Ter Stegen: Eibar managed to score twice but neither counted. One was offside and the other was brought back for a high foot. Ter Stegen made a number of routine saves and a couple of good ones. His real brilliance lies in his passing though and he was forced to create with Eibar pressing high up on Barcelona's attacker. He passed the test - 9.

Semedo: Not particularly busy on the right though had some problems with Inui. Missed a nice chance put on a plate for him by Messi and Griezmann wasn't happy with him for nicking it off his toe. Sergi Roberto should replace him if he remains at this level - 7.

Piqué: Very solid in the majority of his interventions and watched Orellana very closely. Second change for Setien and fear of re-injury with a big few weeks coming up. Either that, or he was just rested as the game was put to bed at that point - 8.

Lenglet: Forced to play with caution because he is one yellow away from missing the Clásico. Played the ball onto Umtiti for a goal that was ruled out. Solid without being exceptional - 7.

Junior: A very quiet game from the left-back. Did not set the left wing on fire and was forced back by Eibar's high press. Needs to improve a lot if he doesn't want to be embarassed against Napoli and Real Madrid - 6.

Sergio Busquets: Not much to tell for Busquets. Barcelona were forced over him a lot of the time with Eibar cutting off passing options. He played knowing that there is a huge game coming up in the Champions League. Subbed off after an hour - 7.

Rakitic: The Croatian is out of form. He is unreliable at this point and incapable of recovering the ball, lacking strength and not doing enough with the ball. Worrying form since the start of the season and with Setien he hasn't improved. Quite obvious that we are watching the last few months at Barcelona - 5.

Arthur: Keeps getting minutes under his belt. Scored at the end of the game thanks to a Braithwaite shot that rebounded to him. He needs to improve if he wants to be counted on in the biggest games - 7.

Messi: Living in another galaxy - 11.

Griezmann: Tried and failed to get on the scoresheet. Messi put one on a plate for him and he managed to mess it up. His general play is still excellent and the amount of work he gets through is also significant as he created space for Messi in dangerous areas - 8.

Vidal: The Chilean played on the left of midfield/attack. Tried his luck a couple of times and it just wasn't his day in front of goals. Played with strength and his usual aggression with some long balls from Ter Stegen - 7.

SUBSTITUTIONS

De Jong: Came on for 32 minutes as a replacement for Busquets. Circulated the ball well but the game was as good as over at that point.

Umtiti: No yellow card, which would have ruled him out of the Clásico. That was the best news for Umtiti and Barcelona. Did manage to score but it was ruled out for offside.

Braithwaite: Got an ovation as he walked onto the field as Barcelona's newest recruit. Didn't let them down either as he created a goal for Messi with a smart cross. He also shot and saw it saved before Arthur score the fifth. Has already done more than Boateng.
