As the Coronavirus pandemic impacts professional sport across the world, Liga MX is looking at moving to have games played behind closed doors.

The Liga MX is considering moving Clausura 2020 week 11 games behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The proposal has been on the table for several weeks now, according to an AS source, and is aimed at stopping the virus spreading in Mexico.

Concacaf is aware of this proposal and has been in constant communication with Mexico’s health department to decide what would be the best solution.

Sports fixtures across Europe and the United States have already been suspended or moved behind closed doors, and Mexico will now consider the same course of action.

As it stands, the best solution on the table is to playing games behind closed doors because it would be almost impossible to reschedule fixtures if a decision was made to postpone them.

Another issue is the rescheduling of Copa MX games, which are due to be held on the 8th and 22nd of April.
