Liga MX and eight other leagues in action this weekend

Due to the pandemic of the coronavirus, many leagues around the world have postponed their seasons, but there are at least nine that will play this weekend.

Liga MX and eight other leagues in action this weekend

Enrique Bonilla, president of Liga MX, was interviewed by Pasion W where they talked about continuing as normal with the 10th week of the Clausura 2020 in spite of the threat of coronavirus, which has forced the postponement of many sports across the world.

The president said that he was in constant communication with the health department and came to the conclusion that Mexico is barely in phase 1 of the pandemic, therefore, the games this weekend will be held with fans in attendance.

Eight other leagues that will continue this weekend

Bolivia first division soccer

Bolivian soccer will continue this weekend with their 12th week but they will play their games behind closed doors to limit new cases of coronavirus.

Ecuadorian Serie A

Just like Bolivia they will continue to play their tournament but behind closed doors.

Chile first division

Chile already had seven of their nine games that they had prepared for this week. The only teams that will not be active are Palestino, Colo-Colo and Santiago Wanderers.

Saudi first division

Just like in Ecuador and Bolivia they will play their games behind closed doors.

Argentina's Superliga

The regular season is over, with Boca Juniors winning the title, but now they will play their domestic cup and the two remaining games will be played with no public watching in the stadium.

Russia Premier League

The competition is about to end and the 22nd week already started with the game between Ajmat and Dimano Moscu. All the games will be held behind closed doors.

Turkey's Superliga

Turkey will also continue to play this weekend for their 2019-2020 season. Currently they are in week 26. The matchday, which began this Friday, will go ahead as normal in all the Turkish stadia, just like in the Russian League and the Serbian league, at the back end of the season.

Gaucho tournament

Brazil’s domestic cup already started and so far they have played three games of the group stage. Most of the other games will be played on Sunday, with only Aimore and Juventude facing each other on Saturday. These games will also be without spectators.
