The Spanish Ministry of Health, in their daily briefing, confirmed the latest number of fatalities, positive cases and recovered patients along with the number of individuals in intensive care units.

The curve still fails to show any sign of flattening with the country posting the highest daily fatality figure with 849 people having lost their life to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours which brings the cumulative death toll to 8,189 since the outbreak of the crisis.

Increase in positive cases

The total of positive cases also grows with a sum total of 94,417, which shows an increase of more than 9,000 from Monday's figure with leading medic Maria Jose Sierra offering today's data in absence of Fernando Simon who was diagnosed positive yesterday.

Sierra confirmed that the cities of Madrid and Barcelona remain the epicentres for the virus in the country posting the highest concentration of positive cases. The glimmer of light in today's numbers is the high numbers of patients making a full recovery with 19,259 confirmed full recoveries with today's figure an increase of 2,400 from Monday's statistic.
