The Covid-19 virus makes no prejudicial distinction on which individuals it affects with many high profile public personalities having suffered with coronavirus.

The coronavirus shows no discrimination as to whom it affects with individuals liable to be affected by the Covid-19 virus, irrespective of their colour, class or social profile. As the pandemic continues to impact on the world, a series of high profile names from the world of music, sports and politics who have tested positive have used social media channels as a way of highlighting their cases in offering advice on symptoms, precautions and social distancing.

We look at a series of global personalities and how the have relayed their experience with coronavirus.

Boris Johnson: Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Just as his UK government were grappling with the early stages of the virus in the country, the 55-year-old Johnson confirmed to the world on 27 March that he had developed 'mild symptoms and had tested positive for coronavirus'. He stated his commitment to fighting the virus via the 'wizardry of technology' and has subsequently posted tweets on hosting digital cabinet meetings as he continues to recuperate at 10 Downing Street in London.

Kevin Durant: Brooklyn Nets basketball player

On March 17, NBA franchise Brooklyn Nets that four of their current roster had been tested positive with Covid-19. It later emerged that high profile player Durant was one of the quartet with the player currently out of action through injury. On 1 April, the Nets followed up the original post stating that all four individuals had made a complete recovery with a follow-up test posting negative.

Tom Hanks: Actor

The veteran Hollywood actor announced to the world on 12 March that he and his wife Rita Wilson had both contracted the virus contracted whilst in Australia. The 63-yer-old provided regular updates on how the couple were feeling during their self isolation process with words of gratitude for the care workers overseeing the couple during their time in Australia. The pair are now back in their native United States having made a complete recovery.

Placido Domingo: Tenor

The Spanish tenor took to Facebook to confirm that he had been diagnosed with Covid-19 on 22 March stating that he felt it was his 'moral duty' to do so. The 79-year-old has recently been in the news over allegations of sexual harassment with a series of women coming forward alleging that the tenor had abused them during his spell working at the Washington and LA National Operas. The tenor is now recovering at his Acapulco home in Mexico.

Prince Charles: Heir to the British throne

It was confirmed that the 71-year-old Royal had tested positive with coronavirus on March 25. The Prince just yesterday posted a short video via the Clarence House Twitter account where he talked about the virus and stated that he now 'finds himself on the other side of the illness' and talked about the 'strange and distressing experience' the virus presents. He added by delivering words of thanks and support to 'doctors, nurses and all those at the backbone of the wonderful National Health Service (NHS).'

Paulo Dybala: Football player Juventus

The Argentine was one of the first high profile soccer players to contract Covid-19. "Hello everyone," he wrote on Twitter on 21 March  "I want to tell you that we got the results of the Covid-19 results and both Oriana and I have tested positive. Luckily, we are both fine. Thanks for your messages."

The player used both his Instagram and Twitter profiles to communicate his progress with a post yesterday stating that he was now virus free but relayed some of his experiences with Covid-19: "I had stronger symptoms, I got tired very quickly, when I wanted to train, I was short of breath after five minutes. There we noticed that something was not right and through the tests the club did we were told that we were positive. "From there we had more symptoms, such as a cough and when we slept I felt very cold".

Idris Elba: Actor

The London born actor, famous for his role in HBO Series The Wire was diagnosed as positive mid-March posting the news on his Twitter account:  "This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus". The actor who also suffers from asthma continued to offer updates during his recovery period with his latest post confirming that he had passed quarantine period and was optimistic that 'the worst had passed'.
