Which US states have prolonged quarantine periods?

The United States is the new epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic that started in China in December of last year. The U.S. became the country with more Covid-19 deaths and more than 500,000 people have now tested positive. These numbers are expected to increase as the country is expected to enter the peak of the pandemic during the next few weeks.

New York has been the epicenter of the outbreak in the United States with at least 2,074 people dying from the coronavirus according to the data from John Hopkins University. Due to the number of cases reported during the week many states have decided to prolonged quarantine.

New York (From April 15 to 29)

When the outbreak started the governor of New York Andrew Cuomo decided to quarantine everyone until April 15, but since they have reached a peak in the number of deaths it was extended until the 29. Experts believe that it could be extended until May if numbers of cases don’t lower this week.

Illinois (From April 7 to 30)

The Gov. of Illinois J.J. Pritzker announced that quarantine was going to be over by March 21 but since the outbreak continued to spread it was changed until April 30. So far 1,293 have tested positive for Covid-19 and 81 people have died.

California (From April 7 to May 3)

As of Saturday morning California has 21,448 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 598 deaths. The virus is spreading rapidly across the state, so governor Gavin Newsome has decided to extend quarantine until May 3.

Colorado (From April 11 to 26)

The Gov. of Colorado Jared Polis decided to extend the stay at home policy. At first he said that people should remain quarantined until April 11 but now he extended it to April 26.

Indiana (April 6 to 20)

Louisiana (From April 13 to 30)

Louisiana is one of the states that has been more affected by the coronavirus pandemic with 20,014 confirmed cases, 806 deaths and 2,067 people in the hospital. Quarantine has been extended until April 30.

New Mexico (From April 10 to 30)

Ohio (From April 6 to May 1)

The Gov. of Ohio Mike DeWine said in the beginning that people should remain quarantined until April 6 but the situation has not improved and he decided to extend it until the first of May.
