Which states could end their quarantine period in the US?

On 16 April, during president Donald Trump’s daily briefing, he said that the United States was ready to soon end its quarantine period and he wants to reopen the economy so people can go back to work. He already announced his three-phase plan to reopen the US amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump’s argument is that each state is different and those with fewer Covid-19 confirmed cases like Wyoming, Montana, Hawaii, North Dakota, Maine and West Virginia can end their quarantine period immediately. All those states combined have a total of 900 confirmed coronavirus cases.

Trump also said during his daily briefing that the governors of each state have the total authority to decide when to end their quarantine period depending on the impact the outbreak has caused to the people. Some states like Alabama, Idaho, Ohio, Texas, Florida and Michigan could end their quarantine period on 1 May, while Colorado plans to end it on 26 April and Oklahoma on 30 April.
