LaLiga players to return to training on Monday
President of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, has been meeting with the players association and the clubs in order to continue on a path towards the return of Spanish football.
The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, has informed the AFE and clubs from the top two divisions of the protocol that will be followed for the return to football from Monday 4 May.
LaLiga players to return on Monday 4 May
Tebas first met with David Aganzo, president of AFE, asking him to adhere to the instructions that the Spanish government has given for the return to activity, something that LaLiga states it will comply with. The agreement by Tebas, Rubiales and Irene Lozano, known as the Viana Pact was forwarded to the Ministry of Health. The president of LaLiga has also spoken with the clubs, and they have given him the go-ahead with the same conditions.
Irene Lozano, president of the CSD, declared on Wednesday that “sport will return” and that “it will be in stages and respecting all the measures that the Ministry of Health have provided.”
The Secretary of State for Sport has already stated that "it is vital that football activity returns,” while the captain of Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos, spoke with the same focus: “I am looking forward to playing again, stepping onto the Bernabéu turf again and putting on the Real Madrid shirt."
The CSD has summoned all parties (RFEF, LaLiga and AFE) tomorrow to review the phases of the de-escalation in football, something that will begin next Monday and will conclude on the second weekend of June with matchday 28 of the leagues. From then, seven more matchdays will be played over the weekend and three during the week until the remaining 11 are completed. At tomorrow's meeting, the CSD hopes to overcome the reluctance shown by AFE, which put forward in their meeting with Tebas elements such as occupational risk associated with a return to play. Their president, Aganzo, also denies having reached an agreement on the terms of the return.
On Monday it will be seen whether or not the players return to their club’s facilities to undergo the coronavirus test and begin individual training.
