What did Trump say about Antifa and the riots?

President Donald Trump lashed out over the Black Lives Matter protests, as well as the looting and vandalizing of historic monuments across the country taking place after George Floyd was killed.

Another night of chaos erupted in New York City on Monday as hundreds of looters stormed Midtown Manhattan for a second day in a row, taking advantage of the protests over the killing of George Floyd and police brutality against black people across the United States. There were widespread reports of windows being smashed and people stealing whatever they could lay their hands on at the stores they were sacking.

Trump lashes out over protests

Just a few hours earlier, President Donald Trump had called Governors "weak" for not being able to control the chaos in their respective states, as he came out of his bunker in the White House to announce he is willing to use the U.S. military to stop these mayhem.

The Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio imposed curfew in the city from 23:00 to 05:00, accompanied by a doubling of NYPD officers assigned to keep order. Despite this, the roving gangs began their spree of rampage after a demonstration over George Floyd’s death earlier in the evening, at times clashing with peaceful protesters who desperately attempted to stop the looting and destruction.

This Tuesday morning President Donald Trump criticized the Gov. and Mayor of New York for what he said was their failure to stop the chaos for a second night in a row and argued that the curfew should be imposed at 19:00 not 23:00.

“NYC, CALL UP THE NATIONAL GUARD. The lowlifes and losers are ripping you apart. Act fast! Don’t make the same horrible and deadly mistake you made with the Nursing Homes! Yesterday was a bad day for the Cuomo Brothers...

...New York was lost to the looters, thugs, Radical Left, and all other forms of Lowlife & Scum. The Governor refuses to accept my offer of a dominating National Guard. NYC was ripped to pieces. Likewise, Fredo’s ratings are down 50%!” tweeted Donald Trump on 2 June.

Disturbances in California

Los Angeles, California, also experienced chaos over the weekend with violent protests and looting, leading to Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Major of L.A. Eric Garcetti reacting by calling in the National Guard on Saturday night, who have been patrolling the streets since then.

There is also a mandatory curfew all week in Los Angeles county from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. in order to control the people who are protesting over Floyd’s death in various parts of the city. But even with the curfew and the presence of the National Guard, demonstrations, both big and small, occurred throughout California as the movement ignited by George Floyd’s death showed no signs of slowing. Last night there was more looting and arrests amid peaceful protests in L.A.

Trump blames antifa for the chaos

According to Trump the violence and vandalism is being led by Antifa and other radical left wing groups who are terrorizing the innocent, destroying jobs, hurting businesses and burning down buildings. He went as far as labeling Antifa a domestic terrorist organization.
