Bill Gates predicts big spike in Covid-19 cases at the end of 2020

Bill Gates is one of the most powerful men in the world, he is the founder of Microsoft and his Net Worth is at $106 billion. Gates warns that the Covid-19 infection rates will hit a second wave in the fall, around October and November, when temperatures cool.

"Better treatment is reducing the deaths, but, particularly as you get into October and November, this thing will be back in big numbers, if we don't restrain our behavior more than it looks like we are right at the moment," Gates warned during a CNN Global Town Hall on Thursday evening.

He went on to blame the politicians for failing to respond to the pandemic properly and called the country’s handling of the outbreak “embarrassing” compared to other countries. Many people refuse to wear masks and don’t follow the social distancing guidelines because of what politicians say about the effectiveness.

Trump is not the leader the US needs in during this pandemic

Gates joins Barack Obama in showing his disappointment in how President Donald Trump’s administration has handled the pandemic. He said Trump has not taken a leadership role in preventing and ending the pandemic in the United States.

"We do need to think about the world here and, you know, that I'm still pretty disappointed, and without US leadership, it's been hard to pull together, you know, a response," he said.

The billionaire continued saying that as a country “we’re not as tough on contact tracing or enforcing quarantine” nor have people been taking wearing masks seriously. Some political groups are actively opposed to wearing masks, an idea that is not particularly helpful if the goal is to reduce the spread of Covid-19

Bill Gates became a worldwide authority on viral pandemics through his philanthropic work with his foundation and he has been funding vaccines research for decades, especially to eradicate malaria, and famously warned the world about pandemics in a 2015 Ted Talk.
